I would love a larger pool size, with small or larger variations, and I hope some completely new.
Another day, another (random) map
Re: Another day, another (random) map
I'd like to try that starting tomorrow but with the existing static maps.
Ready?

Re: Another day, another (random) map
I think having a roster with a set number of active maps makes more sense, rather than just one active map which I think is a very bad idea.
If a map is only active for 24 hours then it's a waste of time optimising against it. If my AI is particularly unsuited to the map then that's a reason *not* to play on that day.
Playing just one map per day over and over would get boring fast.
As a new player, I can't imagine liking the idea of only one map per day.
Also, this is a terrible idea for testing changes to my AI. When I make a change to my AI I want to check that it works in a variety of different scenarios and not just one particular map. If I can only test on one map then I wont be confident that the change is a good one.

Athelinde wrote:I like the idea of a turnover system. A new map everyday, and one drops off the roster, I think a map should last at most 1 week, and random selection between the current maps on the roster. Like maybe keep a map 7 days, then drop it off, and keep like 3 maps always from maybe the current maps (maybe some with more than 4 bots, just for a change), so there is always 10 maps in the selection. Just an idea.

I second that tomorrow's "one map a day" route sounds like an awful idea. If it was done with maybe at least 3 of the more diverse current maps still being there, I would have no reason to really care how this is done, but with only 1 map, the games would start to get extremely predictable in the first 10 games if the maps are similar enough, and the maps will become a mess to keep up with if they are diverse enough to require me to update for every map. Overall, I doubt that tomorrow's change will be great
