Gladiabots Generic AI Cup
Re: Gladiabots Generic AI Cup
How is this enforced? I honestly don't think it is possible to make an non-official generic Ai tournament at this current moment, and even if it was, I'm not even sure how you would get the replays
Re: Gladiabots Generic AI Cup
GFX wanted someone to make an Unofficial Tournament. I did as he pleased.

Any rules?

My algorithm of life: if(self.tired) sleep(); else if(self.hungry) eat(); else follow(Jesus);

Use only generic AI. (One for all)
Re: Gladiabots Generic AI Cup
I'm only not joining because it can't be enforced

GFX will probably find a way.
Re: Gladiabots Generic AI Cup
Need 3 more participants. I just accepted all the pending requests and bracketed all of us.

Do you mean one AI for all maps or for all bot classes?
That is, do you restrict the use of map-specific or bot class-specific AI?
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Re: Gladiabots Generic AI Cup
Will it be single elimination or BO3, BO5?
BO3 or 5 is much more complex to put in place (total number of match is higher) but it give much more value to the results.

Re: Gladiabots Generic AI Cup
I would suggest one AI for all maps (no decorators and no map specific stuff). Botclass specific is like shield value specific. You shouldn't restrict that. Otherwise you could also have a tournament with no retreating rule, that's almost the same.
Gfx will not find a way to check that. It's up to the one organizing the tournament. You can ask people for not cheating or everybody has to send a low pixeled screenshot of the AI.

Exactly. One AI for all classes(must) and maps(preferably).

There is a way to limit this server side if it was programmed in, and that is to ask for only 1 AI at the very beginning and then not allow setting AIs when deploying. That said, I doubt that is happening right now

Bot class filter allowed?

This Tournament is double elimination style.

It's not happening soon indeed.

I suggest to don't take it as a technical question. It's about policy and tournament maker gives the policy.
You did that kanishka. So here is where we are:
1. Generic AI, one AI for all maps and bots. All filters allowed.
2. Double elimination
And what we need:
4. Date
5. Procedure for checking the AI to be generic
6. Gamemaster to put the results to the tournament page
Kanishka, I would suggest the following:
4: asap after we have 8 players
5: small screenshots of the used AI posted on the forum
6: kanishka can add the results to the toornament website and push the results in the forum
