Tagging system 2.0 (Condition based)[might be a request][edited: more samples]

Post#1 » 18 Dec 2016, 15:44

With the https://trello.com/c/CSUmYy4s/24-condit ... of-the-map is about to be implemented , that would really help alot but just 14 fixpoints.

With the tagging system(version-1)
https://trello.com/c/lGp5ECeC/203-tagging-system
-naming an entity (bots,bases,resources) for presice target action.

But the tagging sytem has alot of potentials for,
TAGGED ENTITIES as *fixpoints/conditions
But this requires 'entity ranges'
-bases has ranges of their own.
-resources
(NOTE: That the stuff below is; non existent to game that might be or not to be implemented if requested)
Ex.
Tagged Entity[tagged resource named: resourceX]

The possibilities,for NEW Conditions

"If self long range from the tagged resourceX"
"Is tagged resourceX long range from closest ally"
Another example
"If tagged resourceL long range from ally base"
"Is tagged resourceL exist med range from enemy base"
Another example
"If enemy exists med range from tagged baseY"
"Is closest enemy out of range from tagged baseX"
(can be the other way around)
"If ally base exists med range from tagged enemyS "
"Is self out of range from enemy base"

Examples with static distances (fixpointing from 2 entities)
"If self med range from 'center' long range from 'any wall' "

//// the examples might be wrong but the thought is,
Fixpointing from EntityA to EntityB or with EntityC and so on, can increase/add the following;

Pros;

-MORE map locations
-advanced map navigation
-MORE one time conditions
-advanced bot formations
-can Coexist perfectly with
https://trello.com/c/CSUmYy4s/24-condit ... of-the-map
-makes bots really smart
-encourages critical thinking(makes players think smarter)
-maybe other things i havent think of.

Cons:
-nullpointer always at #1 :D
-increases complexity
(Which i like btw ;), but not everyone can)
-or other things i might havent think of.

this is to determine ones; distance,location,fixpoint
using others ranges on a certain thing.
Even more advanced than the current one.

So the question,
Does the Tagging system might have a chance to support fixpointing?
(For later versions no rush.)

Sorry but I'm still having a hard time following you.
Anyway, about spacial references, I changed this card recently: https://trello.com/c/CSUmYy4s/24-condit ... of-the-map
But 6.1 will remain focused on the tagging system: https://trello.com/c/lGp5ECeC/203-tagging-system

Re: CAN the tagging system BE USED? AS '*Fixpointing'[might be a request]

This is just to increase the tagging systems potentials
This might come on later versions not with the 6.1 1ST tagging system version.

//one more question,
Can we post some 'visual presentations here?
And where to make one.

//or maybe a webpage(would be really hard)
Of galdiabots ui that can be modified to produce visual presentations.(maybe this can be asked personaly for personal use.)

MsPower point
Or
Ms paint
Or
Google slides it is.
For visual presentations :D.
Ill renew this thread from text to visual (i dunno why you cannot understand this,when my 9 year old cousin understands this freely, he plays the game)

And the requested ai folders will be translated to visual presentation too,
Because they're essential to the game for general use to your full RTS game goal.

Cuz if i speak in italian o french,
I doubt everyone can understand as well.

The samples above are variables.(theyre not the real thing)

This is how the current tagging system works with ACTIONS right?

Well then the main post above is reffering for CONDITIONS, but theres no need for rush it can be for tagging system 2.0, something like that dr.

In this example, the middle white bot uses the "commander" AI that sets a "team tag" on one of the enemies.
Then all the bots of the team will engage the tagged enemy.

Au right,
So can the next version of tagging system based on Conditions?
(Current tagging system 6.1, is based on actions.)

(Is the main post above now understandable by human brainz?)

The first version will already have actions (tagging and untagging entities), conditions (is entity tagged) and filters (tagged, not tagged).
All this with 5 bot tags (only visible by the bot which tagged) and 5 team tags (visible by the whole team).

In regards to keeping/inheriting tags:
What would happen if a tagged resource was picked up by an ally/enemy?
What would happen to a tagged ally/enemy that drops or scores a resource?
Could/will we have ways to influence what happens in the above scenarios?

The tag will be removed as the resource will actually "disappear" from the arena.
It won't be re-tagged automatically if dropped.

Avaren wrote:What would happen to a tagged ally/enemy that drops or scores a resource?

It will remain tagged. Carrying a resource doesn't change it.

No.

Distances are still relative to "self". So for most of them, no.

One of its possibilities?
Or one of its needs.

Might as well say the,
"Other entity ranges"
To be used for "two point fix pointing"
-Knowing a 'location' on a map using TWO ENTITIES, mostly effective if STATIONARY, but might as well work with moving ones.

Two point fixpointing condition;
(With static map distances)(simple one)
"If self 'med'? range FROM 'CBSC',
'med'? range FROM LMSC "

Means;

If you add 'ranges to entities'
The bots can know where their locations is.
