Why are AIs stored in the registry ?

Why are AIs stored in the registry ? If they were in ordinary text files I could use git to version them.

Hint: you are not the first that asks for versioning. It is not easy. And theoretically, registry keys are exportable/importable so you could git them too.

GFX suggest to not mess with the registry files and the registry values are likely the default location used by unity.

This storage method is easier to maintain on several platforms and skips all the permissions problems you can have with files.
