Gladiabots, because You're too intelligent for other robot games. Let the intelligent of yours be written and tested in a challenging robotic competition.

I'm not that intelligent but this game makes me think I am. :D

I agree with GFX on the word "develop", accurate though it is, but I liked the rest of Blitz's wording:

"Gladiabots is a competitive strategy game in which you (decide? create? establish? select? set? set up? design?) the behavior of your automated robot battle squad"

I went with this one at Indie Prize:

Gladiabots is a competitive tactical game in which you create the AI of your robots.

You have a team of robots that fights against teams of other players.
The trick is you don't control your units directly but you design their behavior.


Then tutorial.
After the tutorial, I showed them the first missions (practice mode) to talk about the team aspect and bot classes.

The pitch worked pretty well even if lots of players asked me if there was a multiplayer mode.
"Competitive" may not be clear enough.

You could ditch "competitive" all together and get straight to the point.
"Gladiabots is a multiplayer tactical game"

Less flowery words for a more clearer message.

Emphasis on asynchronous. Multiplayer is asynchronous. Bot Control is asynchronous. How you gonna pitch that is upto you. But yeah, emphasis on asynchronous will surely be better.

It may be a bit too technical to be in the pitch.
I don't want to lose the listener on the first sentence ^^
I'd prefer his first question to be about the fighting system or the behavior design.

Create and improve both sound "positive". Both are true.
Anyone with a technical mind should automatically associate "intelligence" with "AI". Anyone who's not interested in it, won't make the association and has less of a chance to be put away.

Edit: also, remove "Pay what you want during alpha" as it's no longer an option.
