Collection of leaderboard snapshots

Some of you know that one of the reasons I created a telegram channel long ago (in Nov 2016) was to record random snapshots of the leaderboard. Yes I was and I am too lazy to just download the stats page (that anyway appeared in january 2017, before the leaderboard was only in game).

So today I went through the media collection of the telegram chat. At the moment in telegram there are about 2900 pictures and a lot of messages, quite an history, I am happy that the channel developed such a value over time.

Anyway, I collected most - not all, since there are really a lot of pictures - the leaderboard snapshots that tells the history of the top players since there are interesting values captured in the leaderboard. In particular the score and the amount of games played. One can see that sometimes names that are always at the top don't play too much (with temporary exceptions. t800, buzzefall, wozza, miojo, etc.. Although many ended up playing a little for weeks stay at the top).

What one misses is the evolution of the score of a player, as one may have a testing phase and always be low in the leaderboard. Well, that info may come later with additional processing of the db dump (see meta thread of the unavoidable tournaments).

So far I collected 277 pictures (and I will collect some more from time to time, round about one each week) and I do not have the patience of uploading them here, 5 at time (as I used enough time already to collect the 277 snapshots from telegram), therefore I uploaded them here:

http://pier4r.pbworks.com/w/browse/#vie ... creenshots

For the rest I'll continue to use telegram (maybe collecting leaderboard screenshots in the previous channel, as they are easier to be found) and from time to time I'll update the collection on pbworks.

Of course everyone can contribute posting here a screenshot of the leaderboard (max 20-40 top players) here every 5-7 days.

If you want you can even pick the screenshots from pbworks and load them here.

PS: in general it is a pity that games, starting from gladiabots, don't organize some sort of history of player evolutions and changes. Well either the game stuff themselves or the community. People do a lot of nice addition to games, but they always forget how useful is history after a while to compare now with the past.

Added the screenshots before the reset of tomorrow (did you know with firefox you can do a screenshot of the entire page? Pretty neat). The screenshots between March 2018 and August 2018 are available on telegram, I hope I will collect them one day.

The last reset (everyone started at 0) was between alpha 4.x and alpha 5 in Nov 2016.

We can say that "milkhunter won" the second reset. I took no screenshots before the first reset.

And predictions for the score resets (as ghosts will stay in place with their score).

When players with strong ai will play, will release hard to beat ghosts around 1800 that then will climb quite quickly, having a lot of victims available (all the new GMs and the ones at 1800).

In the meanwhile ghosts that are not that strong around 1800 will be farmed by those that cannot really win strong ais, but that can win the current 1800-1900 ghosts.

Therefore those ghosts, given the current merciless rule "deactivate if you go lower your original score" will be quickly deactivated en masse. Those points will be farmed back by the strong ghosts ai left by players like milkhunter, bockwurst and co.

In short: to see a new 2000, aside from the current dominating player, will take a bit. Maybe 1-2 weeks, and in the process a lot of 1800-1900 ghosts will be purged.

This will take back some points that the ghosts injected in the system, but a tiny bit. Unless resets happens more frequently.

No here only leaderboard screenshots, but you can of course start collecting and showing screenshots of various AIs. It is quite some work so good luck.

After two days.

Those that were dominating before (since the reset they have win rate over 70% with more than 50 games) are quickly getting the old "top" ghosts. Although their climb is slowed down starting from 2200, as they get the 2600+ ghosts pre-reset that are no jokes and they cannot farm many weaker ghosts as those get increasingly rare over 2200.

Actually their climb is faster than I expected. I would have expected at least a week to see again a score close to 2500. But hey, the elo once again says "I am adapting quickly, fam".
So the first claim - those that dominate will be quickly back close to their score - seems verified.

The second claim "those that do not dominate" (with rate 55% or less) won't easily cross 2000. I thought it would take a bit more time to cross 2000 but it is not so. [/b] Instead of 7-14 days, it seems to take 2-3 days[/b], many are already close to 2000 with relatively average win rates.

In general the ghosts that were fluctuating in the range 1800-2100 are mostly losing, after 3 days, 100 points.
So for example Kogataru went from 2070 to 1950.

If those ghosts do not get deactivated (in this moment deactivation happens if the ghost goes under its original score) I expect them to rebound in some time (4+ weeks?) to their floating score pre reset.

The reset so far seems to achieve 2 things: put a lot more harder ghosts around 2000, either bringing some good ones down or releasing good ones "new" and it seems that makes the climb to old score records a bit harder as:
(a) many points were suddenly removed from the system
(b) ghosts deactivates once they get under their initial score, therefore either a ghost holds points or it will release few of them (max 18 in GM) so to see a huge injection of points hundreds of ghosts needs to be disabled (thing that inevitably will happen, but it may take time).

After some more days. The top10 players didn't yet get near to their pre reset personal best.

Those near or above their pre reset record are (considering players that played 1-2 weeks before the reset)
Bhead
Elvenmonky
gtresd
DH!
Hairy phil
pier4r (I was hoovering around 2.2k)

Those under their pre reset score are
Milkhunter
Bockwurst
mumpsimus
mrchris
ritter
sollniss
aoi
chilio6
chrysophylax
mcompany
and many others.

So the reset still - somehow - keeps points away. It is also true that points are getting redistributed among more active players. Pre reset the active players in GM were like 10-15-20 now they are 40 and counting.

Too early attempt

Ok Tomorrow the season 1 should finish. Milkhunter likely won again. I made the screenshot now.

http://pier4r.pbworks.com/w/file/128850 ... active.png

Note that the leaderboard doesn't report if a ghost left by a player got much higher than the player best. Plus it is also true that a ghost battles a different playerbase than the playerbase battled by an active player. So I think it is fair.

Recap top 10 season 0 (Nov 2016 - Aug 2018) at the time of the screenshot (see previous posts)
