Not that I know. ut wait if you spam some games and then you log after hours, ow come that you have 1354 games played ('m looking now) and I only 454? Unfair!

I noticed that Lord Valcor somehow managed to put himself out of the top15. He was always there.

I login 4 to 5 times a day, play 4 to 6 games and then set 5 games to the pending matches. At the afternoon Pacific time or is pretty easy to find opponents.

I login like in the morning (08.00) and evening (19.00) and I get maximum 8 games per session. 3 live and 5 pending.

Then I check the screen and I see people with +100 games and I whine.

Another thing, as far as I remember to access the multiplayer one has to play the solo mission. Could this be lifted? Because statistics from all games shows that people are not always "disciplined" to finish first the solo missions and then join the multiplayer. For example I got hooked by the multiplayer and I dropped the solo missions.

Since one has always the choice to do the missions, maybe the multiplayer can be unlocked from the start?

This to address the problem of not so many players. If there are not so many players, the multiplayer mode dies.

Further input to keep a certain userbase in the multiplayer even when the multiplayer will cost money: what about "pay to play"?. It is a nice concept used to hook the players that want to play a lot. Like one has 5-10 games for free per day, while the ones that pay have infinite amount for a certain amount of time (like 3 Months). This can be combined with your ideas of credits. With the virtual credits either one buys bots, or "energy to play more games" (see the power boost in modern combat 5), while if one pays real money one plays without limits (maybe limited to some months) but one does not get credits for bots (or not so much at least, so who has poor tactics can enjoy them for a little while spending real money).

Let's try unlocking multiplayer like solo missions (after tutorial).
There will be more players online sure but more noobs that may either drop earlier because of the multiplayer hardcore difficulty or not give a fair/interesting challenge to existing players if they stay.

Interesting thoughts on the limited matches per day... Still not very confortable with making the game F2P but I guess I won't have much choice on mobile.
I'm currently doing some research on monetization via in-game ads and already hate myself simply for doing it :/

I thought the same, but if one is a bit scared about the multiplayer has always the choice to do solo missions to get better. Instead if one has to do solo missions forced, he/r may drop before being interested.

I understand, but I also know that you cannot keep doing it for crumbs. So either you get something back, or nothing. As long as you do not get like gameloft, should be fine. And freemium games ensure bigger playerbase. There are billions of ways to make it freemium without play 2 win: limited matches per day for normal players with premium accounts instead unlimited matches per day; larger queue of pending matches with premium account ; statistics, I will never understand why game developers never get the idea of how much statistics help the players, with premium account you can track your statistics for more time. For example with free account the statistics are for the last 20 games, with premium are for the last 500 (I can give you a ton of ideas on this); ability to replay matches with different AIs only with premium accounts (so this may be a bit play to win but not directly affecting an actual game, still the player has to put effort in the AIs) ; ability to auto redeploy AIs if those are winning (idea from null pointer); larger AI list for the ones with premium accounts, like free 30 slots, premium, dunno, 150? ; possibility to export AI in text for the ones with premium account ; AI editor with more functions (select, copy, delete, insert, bla) for the ones with premium account, but this is cheap since with a good editor players are not bored ; ability to see the last 20 matches (or more) between the top10 current players in the current league with premium account ; and now I stop otherwise I will write 50 more suggestions.

For me if a game is well done, there are literally tons of improvements that can be appealing without unbalancing the actual match between players. Sure some things will indirectly affect this, like having the replays with the possibility of changing the AI, but not an actual match. Not the actual skill that a player has to put in a game, that cannot be "bought".

I like pay once pay-models more then pay on a regular basis or (even more scary) ingame buying. Adds are not to bad in a F2P version. Especially when the add is not stealing screen-space. Maybe something like a video or image every two or three games you launch. I think your game could have two versions, a F2P version with adds and one without for some dollars at the playstore.

That is awsome and worth every penny. Great Ideas. Especially the editor and the trackable statistics. I would love that.

This idea I don't like to much. Auto redeploy with a strong AI is only for point harvesting. The fun is to watch and see your AIs acting and reacting.

Btw GFX. It would be very cool if there would be an option to disable the information if you won or lost a match before you watched it. It's a little bit like watching soccer and already knowing that we won the championship :roll: Sometimes I can't see if I won or not and watching these matches is always way more fun.

Should just be an option? Not just hide it and watch everything again?
Me, maybe some players,
When pressing 'new' would prefer sieng everything on the screen
Rather than watch every single match to know the results.

I report the graph for league4 because the graphs for other leagues shows mostly that the ones that play a lot of games, well, are not improving (the median elo is going slowly down).

So in league 4 one can clearly see that the more the players play, the higher is their median elo. It means that the more they play the higher is their score on regular basis. Higher compared to the score that they had before. Like someone that was used to have 1200 now has often 1300+.

One can see this with 3 lines. 20th percentile, median and 80th percentile.

median score (or elo) means: given the collection of all the player scores during time (after each game), we sort those from lower score to high score and we pick the element in the middle (without doing the average). For example the median of the collection "-2000 1 3 5 1000" is 3 because it is in the middle.

median: given all the median scores (see above) of players that were in the 4th league when they played their 100th game (or 50, 150, 200, 250 and so on), sort them from lower to higher. Then pick the median (so the median of the median score), in other words the value in the middle of this collection.

The 20th percentile means: pick the first element that is bigger than 20% of the elements of the collection but smaller than the rest. The 80th percentile is "bigger than 80% of the elements, but smaller than the 20%".

In this way one can see that players with high median elo (the 80th percentile) improve steady with games played (but eventually reaching a plateau). The same happens for players in the middle (median) and even for players that hold lower scores for long time, their score slowly increases.

Then the graph jumps almost to one point because the number of people having passed the 1350 is a little (now there are more of them, but not 3 days ago).

Anyway this graph respond to my question "do players improve over time given a fixed metric in the top league?", the answer is YES. (the graphs of league1,2,3 answer "not sure")

This is also obvious. The more games one play, unless he is very detached from the game, the more one fixes the Ais that gets slowly better.

GFX two questions.

1.If I edit and test a new AI and the game crashes, the AI is gone (happened 2 h ago). So I started to write the new AI again and I noticed that at every change there is a push to the server. So if one has stable internet, would be possible now to rely on the server data if crashes happen locally?

2. this is a very niche request, would be like cream over an already supersized delicious cake, could be that for every match you know which version of the player data was used? For example I'm at version 3207 now, so even if I send a previous AI, does appear in the match that I'm at version 3207 (o previous)? Otherwise would be it possible to make a cross check with times where a version was received? (Since you already shared the times for the matches)

So with an analysis one can see after "which version" a player started to gain points or how much he worked on the AIs to keep his points.
