I definitely think it depends on what the players want, I'm by no means am going to push it. Still though, if anything, I could place the deadlines in between your deadlines (so if you are doing 2 day deadlines, my first deadline is the 3rd day from the start and then are two days for each)
Definitely I am considering making my own tournaments, although I'm currently bouncing between programming a game engine that I'm turning into a music player, programming a phone app that is for a minor company between me and 2 of my friends, a summer school class that ends August 3rd, actually trying to develop my AIs, that math problem that I occasionally return to, and actually trying to get me some free time while living on my own and being currently jobless and technically homeless (this is the main reason I haven't read a single Russian post in a while and why I'm not going to respond to the physics question thread I started). If anything, I won't start something of my own until summer school ends.
As for the alternate pairs, I pretty much expected that and was being hopeful, but I won't even be surprised that they use different algorithms and judge seeding differently or anything like that. It would just be interesting to see how different they become
