Then feel free to use the stats and compute the tournament (make another thread, find a name. This one is more to collect all the tournaments links and facts). Because with my 4 puny ones, until I don't automate some stuff, I cannot do more

I hope this will motivate people to try hard for the tournaments, like : "Hmm no Ritter around there, it's time to get a nice winning streak and get points for the championship"

I think that could be funny to let the winner give a message like "GG WP all" or "haha got u fags" :)

And thanks but no kudos there, I made an excel sheet for automatic computation, it will take 5mn per week now ;)

Notes. After reflecting a bit I'm going, when I can, to include the modifications suggested by castlevania in the streaks tournament. So considering not only the length of the not losing streak, but also also the opponent power (simply checking the gained XP).

For the direct fights tournament instead, I'm going to consider better the "strength" prize between players otherwise this may be heavily influenced by the last matches, instead should not be so, should be a balance over the week, somehow. There are many ways but I guess I'm going to use an approximative one.

While I am rebuilding the infrastructure to compute the unavoidable tournaments. I want to make a little use of my VPS (that otherwise for too long will sit doing a little aside blocking spam bots):

I will put here http://clserver1.cz.pier4r.t28.net:2080 ... _db_dumps/ the db dumps that I get from GFX (so GFX's servers do not get overwhelmed) . For the moment I have still to test the script that makes the update.

So if someone wants to crunch the data, one can do it.
Note: the files are reorganized for my scripts, so are inverted (the first line with the column names is at the end), further questions: ask Chris, I answered enough of them and for a while I'm out.

edit: careful with the downloads that the bandwidth is limited, otherwise I have to kill the service (or better, put it behind a pwd).

So I'm slowly computing the tournaments again. In particular "xp gains" tells me clearly if I have to adjust the threshold of "matches played".

It would take a while though since then I have to order the result and hopefully I can offer a static site for them on my VPS.

I got a bug while computing the tournaments for mid July. So I may need more time to fix it. The important part is that I have the data kindly given by GFX and the references (how the leagues were subdivided, how much activity there was and so on).

Interesting that the current arena system in lichess almost resembles the direct fights tournament. Only the newer version (june 2017) of the direct fights was using the elo, before it was using a fixed amount of points per game. That because points per game may reward mostly who is playing a lot.

Current lichess arena rules
How are scores calculated?
A win has a base score of 2 points, a draw: 1 point, and a loss is worth no points.
If you win two games consecutively you will start a double point streak, represented by a flame icon.
The following games will continue to be worth double points until you fail to win a game.
That is, a win will be worth 4 points, a draw: 2 points, and a loss will remain worth no points.

For example, two wins followed by a draw will be worth 6 points: 2 + 2 + (2 x 1)

How is the winner decided?
The player(s) with the most points at the conclusion of the tournament's set time limit will be announced winner(s).
How does the pairing work?
At the beginning of the tournament, players are paired based on their rating.
As soon as you finish a game, return to the tournament lobby: you will then be paired with a player close to your ranking. This ensures minimum wait time, however you may not face all other players in the tournament.
Play fast and return to the lobby to play more games and win more points.


nonetheless it can be use as "season" score in gladiabots. Opening another thread for this.

regarding this, notice. Since end of January 2018 the data is mostly (99%) about inactive deployments and not active ones.
