Mine Launcher ?

Hello,

What about a mine launcher bot ?

Not grenades, not missiles, but mines.

It would launch mines, one by one, or several at a times, with a limit of maybe 3 mines total per game.
The mine would fly like a cannon ball, and reach the targeted point within a margin of error.
If the mine hits a bot, it immediately explodes and inflicts half damage.
If the mine hits the ground, it stays there until a bot walks on it.
Then the mine explodes, doing full damage.

It would only be cool if we can flank, move at will, "see" obstacles...

The arena is quite big, and you can't decide where to place your bots/mines. So the probability of an enemy bot stepping on a mine is quite low...
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

Unless you mined their Base, or Resources... :twisted:

Mining on resources could be a good idea ;)
But mining on bases wouldn't do anything, for the robots usually have full shield when they are near their base... There are other bots tanking the damage.
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

If directional and/or positional awareness ever becomes a thing in this game, then this class could make a lot of sense. Not so much with the bots curremt level of battlefield layout detection.
