This will mean ghosts are more likely to have differences, and will not create many more ghosts for folks who spam a lot of games with an identical AI than for those who deploy fewer games. I too initially thought that these ghosts would rise to a ranking reflecting their actual strength much more quickly, but the fact is that there are just *way* to many of them for that to happen. I think the real problem are the resets. Without them we wouldn't need all the tweaking to matchmaking, and the only problem that they aim to solve, as far as I'm aware, is Elo point inflation, which is kind of inherent with the introduction of ghosts, which have made the point system non-zero sum. ...

I know several proposals around counters,variables, and timers have been made before. I think this one has some new ideas, or at least unifies some of the use cases of all 3 of those. Reinstalled (through itch) which preserved my account data, resynced again, still no match history, and now I get the blank screen again after creating a new match. Unless you think there's value in debugging this more, I'm tempted to blow away all my data on windows, start a new account and ask for...

Started the itch launcher as admin, which may or may not spawn child processes with the same account, but it didn't change anything.

It notified me about a sync conflict again, I clicked keep server data again, and now the game won't start at all. It's permanently stuck in the 'Loading Game...' screen, with the spinner moving.
